Ethics - 

1. a set of principles of right and wrong behaviour guiding ,or representative of a specific culture,society,group,or individual.

2. morality of an action.

Adjective relating to morals.

Etiquette-

1. The forms required by good breeding, or prescribed by authority, to be observed in social or official life;observance of the properties of rank and occasion;conventional decorum;

2. The customary behaviour of members of profession,business,law,or sports team towards each other.

3. A label used to indicate that a letter is to be sent airmail.

Ethics being the standard of life of a particular culture,society,group or family.

It is the way of life of a society. Etiquette is the accepted or acceptable behaviour of members of a clan,tribe,people or society.

Having known these two it shows that children or young ones needs to be trained in the ways to behave to show them as children of God and Christ our Saviour.

We have observed many times that when a child behaves somehow outside people tend to say he or she behaves like someone in the family. If it is a wrong behaviour they describe such a child as an outcast of their family. Good behaviour shows and exhalts Parents outside.

The glory of Parents is in the etiquettes they train their children with. A Parent was walking with the two daughters one afternoon and a mother passing by saw them and asked, " are those your daughters?" He answered,"Yes". The woman paused and said,"You have good daughters and you are blessed". This are some of the glories Parents receive if they follow the commandment that God gave to Abraham and all Parents." I trust that Abraham will teach these laws to his children". This is the desire of God for all Parents and Guidance.

Christy Essien Igbokwe in one of her classic songs declared, " Our mothers and Fathers do good that it may be well with us children. My mother do well by praying for me, if a child behaves wrongly he/she is said to have been taught such a bad behaviour by the mother likewise the father. My mother teach me the right etiquette,my father teach me good etiquettes." This song up till today remains a classic to all Nigerians abroad or in the Country.

The right of every Parent or the first calling of every Parent is first teaching ethics and etiquettes to children and then after their homework. God will ask us all parents were we able to sink the right ethics and etiquettes to all our children. If we fail in one we have failed in all. May God help us all.

Children should be taught the following etiquettes:

1. Greeting elderly people- Parents should make it a compulsory thing at home for their children to greet them either by kneeling down for the girls or by postrating for the boys. A thing you practice for thirty days becomes an habit. It keeps driving you. Many children wait for elderly people to greet them first as this is a wrong etiquette such should be corrected by Parents,Guidance,Counsellors in church or Schools and tutors/teachers. Help me beat my child if he or she behaves wrongly. I politely want to make this comment. Looking at anothers mans child behave wrong and as a Parent or Guidance around not cecking or correcting such a child is a sin. We are the result of what our world is today. If we want our society,clan,community,family to change lets not hesitate to correct any child that uses bad etiquettes.

Our schools are doing well in this that when a Parent or another teacher enters into another class, the whole class stands up to greet the person by saying" Welcome sir,welcome ma. We are happy to see you,God bless you." No Parent in question will look over the shoulder without saying God bless you children.

It is time for we children also to understand that if you say " Good morning to somebody in turn you receive Good Morning". This is an act of blessing to command God to remember to bless you day. If four,five,six peolpe blesses you with a Good Morning surely your morning will be blessed. This may be today or your future God stands somewhere to make sure that you remain blessed.

2. Children whenever you eat with daddy or mummy yhough we know they are your Parents but etiquettes proves you that after eating you clear the table and not just stand up and leave the dinning like that. Some children will eat so fast so that they will not be the one to clear the table. Today Parents teach forcefully etiquettes to housemaids/househelps leaving their own children to be without the real training of family,cultural and biblical trainings. Forcing them now will make you receive awards,commedations for the way you brought up your children. Churches should not take this as a thing of not trying to offend principal people or officers in the church.  "Train up a child in the way he should go,And when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 

3. Don't shout on your Parents little children even if you are old and your Parents are still alive lets try and pray for patience to be able to speak to them with soft is tones "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.." Proverbs 15:1 The act of shout back at Parents shows rebellion and we have been instructed according to Deuteronomy that any child that rebels against the Parents should be taken to the city gate and stoned to death. Today, this is not so because no Parent can submit any of the children for such purnishment.

4. Don't cause any form of disturbance in God's presence. God does not take it with levity for those who causes others to be disturbed in his presence. Just like a school teacher who askes for the cooperation of the pupils by keeping silent in class and the way the teacher reacts to any pupil who disturbs by making noise either with our sophisticated phones or gadgets which people bring around during service. These objects should be kept on silence to avoid disturbance but we know that children brings such to church to brag but we should teach also that God does not like that which will make your fellow man commit.

Ethics and Etiquettes are the ways through Christ to restore Christ life back into the world,then we shall be free of drug addiction and the likes. 

The Lord bless His word and them that reads it and acts according to it.

If you are there are you as a child you don't know Jesus i.e. you don't have a relationship with Him today is the day of salvation turn ye and be saved. Say this pray," Lord Jesus i believe you are the son of God,through you all things were made. You came into this world to be born as a sinner. You died for my sins and set me free from the law of sin and death. On the third day you raise from the dead. I believe in you take up my life and help me live through this sinful world. I receive you as my personal Lord and Saviour today in Jesus name.Amen"
